FolderSize
A downloadable tool for Windows
PASSWORD: corroded handcuffs
Collab Project between me and my brother, he usually works with games mods and all so he usually has alot of mods folders which he needs to see each folder's size and as windows's explorer only shows the sizes of files and not folders he asked me to help him to make this, you either launch it from its .exe and select a folder that you want to get the sizes of the files and folders its containing or set the config file and launch it to be able to get the same result by right clicking opening the context menu on a folder and then selecting this app for easier use and more accessibility as he uses this alot and to launch the .exe every time and select a folder would be alot of work this way he can access it easily for consecutive use, it was originally a project made for him to use but since i spent a little too much on it because i was learning how to work with the explorer's context menus and so i polished it fairly i decided there is no harm in publishing it, as it was made for him and so by his preferences every aesthetics choice is on him and i have nothing to do with it and so any functionality issues are on me so please let me know if you encounter any.
there isnt really a whole lot to explain about how to use it but here it is:
using the app both ways from the executable or the context menu (right click in explorer) both result in making a "#FolderSize.txt" in the selected folder containing all the folders and files in that folder and their sizes.
as soon as you get the app you can either launch the "config.exe" executable for it to make the explorer's context menu's button, if you decide not to and instead launch the "FolderSize.exe" instead its fine as if its being launched for the first time it would launch the "config.exe" executable its self, after first launching it a "config.txt" file would appear in the same directory for if you would want to take it of the context menu you could just edit the txt file switching the values you would want to change from yes to no and then re-running the "config.exe" to apply the changes, from there on its easy just use it by launching the executable or from the right and from then its pretty much self explanatory but in case it isnt you can comment any questions you have.
but since it works with the windows (the context menu) you cant just delete the executable from the machine and since it isnt installed you wouldnt find it in the control panel so if you would want to delete it you should first switch all the "yes"s in the "config.txt" file to "no"s and launch the "config.exe" before deleting it.
note that if you would want to it somewhere you would need to move all its files with it those being ("FolderSize.exe", "config.exe", "Data"(folder) ), or it would start throwing some errors, do not mess with its Data folder too folder too, and thats all there is to it.
